Mission of the Religion Program
|
| Central College is
a liberal arts college in the Christian tradition, which means the religion
faculty teaches a variety of courses that focus on the history and tradition
of Christianity. Faculty members seek to present Christianity honestly,
without proselytizing, and they allow students to judge it on its own terms.
Likewise, the religion faculty believes that other world religious traditions
should be understood on their own terms, not merely in relation to Christianity.
One religion course in either Christianity or world religions is required
for graduation from Central College, and the religion faculty also offers
a religion major, a religion minor, and a more specialized Christian Ministries
Concentration within the religion major. |

webpages that describe the major, minor, and Ministries Concentration as
well as all the courses in the Religion Program at Central College, return
