I recently finished my Ph.D., earning it at the University of Oklahoma. Boomer Sooner!! I did my work with advisor Dr. Andy Magid. We worked in the area of representation theory of finitely presented but infinite groups and the title of my dissertation is "Deformations of Simple Representations of Two-Generator HNN Extensions". You can download a copy of my dissertation toward the bottom of this page with all of my other links.

I loved being at OU. I made lots of friends there and got really involved in campus government. I served as Vice-Chairman of the Graduate Student Senate while also serving on lots of other campus committees. I also (with my wife) managed to attend almost every home football game and lots of the away games. Who says you can't have a small-college experience at a large state university?

I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1994 and 1996 respectively. For my Master's Project I wrote a paper entitled "Geometric Invariant Theory of Finite Matrix Groups" with my advisor, Dr Tie Luo. You can also download my thesis below. It was really fun writing the thesis utilizing the software package Mathematica. I was also a Graduate Teaching Assistant at U.T.A. from 1994 to 1996 when I graduated. I made some of my best friends while going to school there.

My academic interests include Algebraic and Computational Geometry and Commutative Algebra. My dissertation research is in the area of representation theory while my master's thesis heavily involved polynomial rings and a whole lot of work with the package Mathematica. I used it extensively to show that the ring of invariants under a particular group of order 24 is generated by only 4 polynomials.

You can also take a look at some of the Mathematical Links I've found over time.

Here is the list of papers (some published and some not) that I've written or helped write:
