Holiday Greetings From the Fyfe Family!

This is the third edition of the Christmas home page for our family. This year the theme is Transitions.

Our biggest transition was a move to a new town and a new home. Stephen accepted a job at our Alma mater, Central College, back in February and we moved in June.

Although there is always an adjustment, so far everyone is "transitioning" to our new home fairly well.

Here is our new address:

The Fyfe's
1553 Pleasant Drive
Pella, IA 50219

We're on our way...

to...

our new home!!!

Rachel played with some other kids at a mall in early November

Rachel is now five and has made several transitions this past year.
  • She (and her mother) are getting ready for school next year. Rachel is attending a Pre-K program for children who will be in Kindergarten next year.
  • Rachel lost her first tooth! She was a little bit nervous for the first tooth, but now that the second one has come out as well it's NO BIG DEAL anymore!
  • Rachel continues to play the violin and had to adjust to a new teacher with the move. Although she misses Mrs. Johnson, she has transitioned to her new teacher very well and loves Miss Lawson. She just had a recital where she played "Andantino". If you would like to here her play click the name of the song. (WARNING: This file is 1.49 Meg!)
Abby continues to be our rambunctious child. Thankfully, we have had no trips to the emergency room this past year. Like most younger siblings, Abby has spent the past year transitioning into many of Rachel's things: her old clothes, her old Halloween costumes, her teddy bears, her swing on the swing set… Sometimes she is even ready for some of the things Rachel does, and would like to try herself (even if her parents aren't ready)!

Abby is now 2 1/2 and beginning some of her own activities with other kids. She is especially fond of "Little Lambs" and Story time

  Abby as Snow White

Abby and Rachel both enjoy our new yard, and especially enjoyed their new swing set

Stephen and Lisa have had some transitions of their own to make this past year. Stephen just finished his first semester at Central, and while everything went well, he is glad to have the first semester, and all the adjustments that go with it, over. Of course, besides school, Stephen also has to find new running routes, new road races to run, and new people to run with!

Lisa has found some new mother's and women's groups to transition into. While she will never replace the friends she made in Fremont, she is glad to have an excuse to get out of the house!

Merry Christmas everyone!
