In a household that contains a 9 year old, 6 year old, and 3 year old girl, dress up and pretend are very popular pastimes. A visit to our home on any given day will likely find dress-up clothes, shoes, make-up and nail polish strewn throughout the house. So it seems natural that the theme of this years Christmas page is: The Legends of the Fyfe Family: 2002".
Once upon a time in a land far
far away there lived 3 princesses. Each princess was granted special gifts
to charm the people around her, and take away whatever might be troubling
them. One was granted the gift of music. Her melodies could be heard
throughout the land, and all could rest when they heard her sing and play -
their worries drifting away with the music. The second was granted the
brightest blue eyes and biggest smile that broke into laughter at all
occasions. One glance from this princess and even the hardest heart would
melt. The third and tiniest princess was granted a heart larger than her
stature. All who met her would be encouraged to attempt tasks above and
beyond what they could ever imagine...
Ok, so we are probably a little biased. Rachel, Abby, and Rebekah are doing well, though. Rachel and Abby are in third and first grade and both love school very much. Rachel still plays the violin, and both enjoy the community art center. In addition, they both participate in various sports - soccer, swimming, softball. They may not be the most athletically inclined, but they do know how to have fun! Especially when Stephen is coaching their team. Of course Rebekah tries whatever activities her big sisters are in.
It was close to dusk. Lisa knew that if she didn't find the rest of her party soon, she and her two small companions would be spending the night in the woods. The day had started earlier as a fun trek through the woods, but then Lisa decided to take Steph and Abby on a little short cut away from the rest of the group. They had been lost for hours now, and Steph and Abby had started to cry. What Lisa did not know was that a prisoner had escaped from the state prison earlier that day. Suddenly Lisa heard a noise behind her. They were being followed!

Well, maybe it didn't happen quite like that, but we did have a little bit of a suspenseful moment on our vacation to Northern Minnesota in the summer. We were spending a couple of days with some friends from college and were out on a hike together. Lisa was with Abby and our friend's daughter Stephanie. They were ahead of the rest of us, and took the wrong fork in a trail. When we reached our destination imagine our surprise to discover that Lisa, Abby and Steph were not there! There really were a few anxious moments as Stephen ran around the nearby trails calling Lisa's name. All turned out well in the end, and the view was fantastic! Oh, Stephen did run another marathon on this trip (Grandma's marathon in Duluth, MN), but it really wasn't one worth talking about.
The Action/AdventureThe water moved swiftly toward the rapids in the alligator infested river. The group knew that their little raft would not hold up much longer and wouldn't be able to survive a trip through the biggest rapids in the state...

The Dramatic Comedy
Once upon a time there was a little brown-eyed girl named Rebekah . . . Everyone knows that no embellishment needs to be made to a three year olds life. Every single day includes moments of drama that could make you cry (or at least make the 3 year old cry!) and moments of laughter the very next instant. Rebekah is very much a three year old. |
That's about it from the Fyfe family this year. We hope this note finds you well and that you had as enjoyable year as we did. God Bless, and of course

the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can."
