Maple Information:

Maple Materials: Tom Linton's Maple Materials Page (from when Tom was a member of the Moravian College Math Department) with links to introductions, activities, lectures and computer labs. The first two introduction links may be very helpful.

Exponential Functions: The link to the left points to a Maple worksheet (right click or option click the link and select "Save Link As" from the ensuing menu to save the worksheet to a local directory) on exponential functions, their basic properties and how to estimate formulas f(x) = a * (b^x) for exponential data.

Supply and Demand activity using exponential formulas for the supply and demand curves related to setting the price of a credit hour in a university setting.

The Derivative at a Point activity introducing the notion of instantaneous rate of change of a function, based on notions of average rates of change and linear slopes.

Other Course Materials:

Syllabus: The syllabus for the course and the schedule with links to assignments.

Graphical Derivative activity, a plot of f(x) and a set of axes to plot the derivative f '(x).

TI-83 Materials of possible interest:

Introduction: A general introduction to several basic features of the TI-83 calculator.

Graphing on the TI-83: Several concepts related to graphing (finding roots, estimating values, evaluating, etc.) on the TI-83 calculator.

Functions: Some basic skills related to functions with the TI-83 calculator.

Lists: A PDF file on using lists on the TI-83 calculator.
